To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis
This book is a delightful romp thru the late 1880's. The story is told in a style that is a combination of P.G. Wodehouse and 1930's mysteries. The plot being a time travel tale is fairly convoluted but fun. I will say it is hard to guess what comes next. The moments of absurdity with the fate of the space-time continuum in the balance creates a tension that propels the story along. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this world.
