What I liked:

• Narration was good with clearly discernible characters
• I enjoyed the switching between male and female narrator when the point of view of the story switched between the sexes.
• The beginning of a truly epic story. Yet this first installment contains a full story in its own right.
• The world building is rich and much is only hinted at in this installment of the series

What I didn't like:

• The beginning of the narration stared with music to set the mood. It was a bit disappointing that incidental music and sound was never used again. I believe it would have made the world seem that much richer and complete.
